The Atlanta office is seeking a Surveyor/Instrument Man to join the team!
This is a challenging position for a candidate with a desire to gain exposure to varied and interesting projects. This position requires an excellent driving record as travel will be required. The right candidate will also need to be able to pass the E-Rail Safe (rail background test) and be able to pass government background checks. We will train the right candidate; no experience is required. This position will pay between $12-$18 an hour.
* High School Diploma or GED * Ability to work outdoors (approximately 95%) * Ability to travel (approximately 50%) * Knowledge of Microsoft office software and Internet software. * Valid Driver’s License and in good standing * Ability to successfully pass E-Rail Safe (rail background test). * Ability to successfully pass other background and drug as my be required particular for Federal Government related projects. * No relocation is provided

General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Holds level or Prism Pole with prism at designated points to assist in determining elevations, gathering general topographic features and laying out stakes for topographic maps, construction layout, mining, land, and other types of surveys. * Calls out reading or writes station number and reading in field notes and on field stakes. * Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark. * Measures distance between survey points with steel surveyor’s chain or cloth tape. * Marks measuring points with keel (marking crayon), paint sticks, scratches, tacks, or stakes. * Places stakes and monuments at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation. * Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of sight during general survey operations. * Performs maintenance of general daily used survey equipment and maintains supplies for survey crew. * Ability to memorize up to 200 point codes and control codes. * Begin to understand the operation of the survey instrumentation and data collection processes. * Understanding of how field and office CADD software will analyze field gathered input. * Ability to enter storm pipes and inlets; use tools such as shovels, sledgehammer, pick, cutting tools, post drivers, and power tools.
