Roll (https://www.rollbyadp.com/) is a digital-first startup that sits inside of ADP. The product offers an innovative and intelligent payroll solution that enables small businesses to run payroll, anywhere at any time with no experience needed! The Business Development Director - Partnerships is a key strategic position with a growing partnership team that will report to our Head of Business Development for Roll by ADP and will start as an individual contributor.

The Director will build, grow and manage their own book of business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for strategic partnership development including identification, negotiation, and enablement of new partners. You will also be responsible for managing a focused portfolio of partners and delivering a growth target number of referral units from those partners. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about the small business ecosystem, startup culture and partnerships. Success in this role will hinge upon your ability to source/evaluate opportunities optimally, operationalize opportunities swiftly, and lead cross-functional projects strategically.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Commercial Negotiation

Serve as a key member of the partnerships team and help define and deliver strategic growth within the small business ecosystem by establishing and commercializing new partners in key verticals

Evaluate key priority verticals and identify potential strategic partners through market research, industry assessment and targeted discovery in close coordination with Roll’s Head of Business Development

Develop, pitch and efficiently manage prospect pipeline for key priority verticals

Lead negotiations and contract execution for partnership deals, including commercial terms, security reviews and integration requirements.

Serve as the subject matter expert for the Roll BD team on key specific verticals

Acts as a primary business representative at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events for ADP by Roll

Proactively seek out new revenue/partnership opportunities and new approaches to optimizing business opportunities within key priority verticals

Partnership Portfolio Growth and Management

Manage a portfolio of vertical specific partnerships in order to deliver on growth targets and increase the contribution to the overall BD portfolio and Roll customer base.

Constantly find new ways to generate incremental leads from partners and optimize conversion of those leads through different marketing promotions

Build partner relationships in order to understand partners’ business and partnership strategy and develop/broaden key stakeholder relationships

Leverage data analytics to assess portfolio performance and deliver partner performance scorecards and optimization strategies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in education and experience)

Experience: 10 in strategic partnerships, business development and/or alliance development, or strategic sales

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated success in developing, launching, managing, and scaling strategic partner programs and managing a book of business

Sales and/or marketing experience for digital startups and/or corporate innovation teams

Lead generation and management expertise

Knowledge of small businesses and startup ecosystems

Strategy development and execution

Strong content creation and business storytelling / presentation skills (PowerPoint)

Highly organized and disciplined with outstanding project management skills and strong attention to detail

Agile thinker with the ability to function in a flexible changing environment – we operate as a start-up within a large company

Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly your own and thrive in a collaborative, fast paced, team-first culture

Willingness to roll up your sleeves to help partners and internal teams make the most of our opportunities

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.

Salary range for this role is: $90,800 - $184,200 / Year
