The apprentice will receive special training in various areas to learn fundamental skills and techniques. The apprentice is assigned to a ship to begin a coordinated work rotation involving Layout/Installation, Hook Up and Test of various shipboard systems. These include lighting, power generation and distribution, interior communication, armament, fire control and electronics. As experience and knowledge are gained, the student aides in the training of newer apprentices.
