Entry Level Tech Jobs description
Entry-level technicians ensure that technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software. Entry-level technicians are responsible for installing, configuring and upgrading operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages and may modify specific applications for use in operational departments. They troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware and software, e-mail, network, and peripheral equipment problems; and also make repairs and corrections where required. Entry-level technicians act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data. Entry-level technicians provide instruction or written documentation where required and maintain current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommend modifications as necessary. Entry-level technicians provide technical support, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and is ready to use, and that the right materials are available for particular lessons. They budget and order resources, conducting risk assessments, and carrying out staff supervision and training.An entry-level technician should have BE and B.Tech or college-level coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field. An entry-level technician should have excellent computer skills. Ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines is essential.
