Entry Level Law Jobs

An entry-level law officer works cooperatively with local, state, and other federal law enforcement officials. An entry-level law officer conducts informational and educational programs and enforce drug control laws. An entry-level law officer also assists outside agencies in conducting search and rescue missions on national system. An entry-level law officer assists special agents by conducting preliminary investigations. An entry-level law officer responds to unplanned incidents such as environmental protests, threats to employees, and large group events.

An entry-level law officer requires a bachelor's degree in law. In addition, an entry-level law officer should have the knowledge of specific laws related to court matters. Equivalent combinations of successful completion of undergraduate education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirement for an entry-level law officer. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work. An entry-level law officer should have ability to: analyze problems, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
