Entry-Level Government Jobs

An entry-level government officer may provides representation for clients in matters involving housing discrimination, eviction defense, civil protection orders and wage and hour claims, and provides civilians the opportunity to work on community projects. Duties of entry-level government officer may include collaboration with other officers, direct supervision of other officers as they represent clients and participate in community projects, as well as curriculum development. An entry-level government officer should understand the importance of being fair, firm and consistent with staff, with the ability to clearly define expectations and develop accountability. An entry-level government officer is responsible for improving both public relations and customer.

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline is required for entry-level government jobs. Strong management and leadership experience of more than five years and a demonstrated track record of achievement are desirable for entry-level government job. In addition, an entry-level government officer must demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, human relations skills, and time management skills.
