Entry-Level Federal Jobs

An entry-level federal officer is responsible for the development of cross program support in the areas of budget/financial support, procurement services, human capital management and program/project management. Successful entry-level federal officers ensure that support goals in these areas also support the objectives of program operations management and technical support functions. An entry-level federal officer also ensure that business office priorities are based on stakeholder needs and adequate resources, keeping in mind continuous process improvement and a centralized service concept. An entry-level federal officer is responsible for providing analytic support on a wide variety of subjects in order to provide management with accurate, timely, authoritative information and analysis to be used in support of agency and decision making.

An entry-level federal officer must have a bachelor's degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. An entry-level federal officer should have experience in database design and applications for quantitative analysis.
