Some sketching is still being done by a shrinking number of designers and graphic designers. When an entry-level web design job is advertised, the individual tasks that are involved are usually described quite accurately. After all, employers are waiting and hoping for results. When web design is involved it is important to be able to work with the Intranet. That is the internal web application of the company. As an entry level employee it is important to learn and get to know everything about enhancement and maintenance of the site. Knowledge of ASP and visual Basic are important. Planning .NET Platforms can be in the job description of the entry-level graphic designer. For tool designers it is often required to be able to work with CAD.

College students fill many entry level jobs in just about anything before they graduate. College students who want to pursue a designer career have to make sure they are attending the right classes. That is also the case with design jobs. For many entry-level design jobs some knowledge of HTML and XHTML is required. Knowledge of or proficiency with graphic software is almost always required. Illustrator, Fireworks, Photoshop CS3, Flash, and Microsoft Office is very essential to get started in the design world. Overall it is advisable to look for an internship at the start of a designer career. A BFA in graphic design is overall appreciated.

Many employers prefer to hire designers for entry level positions because it is not always easy to find designers who have talent. After all, the job of designer is a very creative one and creativity requires talent. If certain employees are not officially discovered as early on as possible then it is very likely that a competing firm will find other talented designers first. Design companies try to avoid that by recruiting recent graduates. Many designers are also hired by designing companies before they graduate, especially when their talent is very obvious. The perfect candidate for an entry- level designer job is the one who is willing to learn. He is able to deal with constructive criticism from his superiors.

Entry level job search tends to be challenging at first, but those who have real talent will be discovered in the process. Many jobs are advertised on websites and in newspapers. Designer companies who do not advertise their job offers are very likely interested to find new talent. Contact any designing company you would like to work for. Those who are in the process of becoming very talented designers will experience soon that in the world of design anything is possible. Employment opportunities are everywhere.

Designers have the potential of making good money. After graduation they start off with average wages, but those who are really good and very creative can make a lot more money, even with entry level employment.

Finding an entry level designing job is a very thrilling experience. All famous designers started their career with an entry-level design job.
